I joined Century on Sep. 2, 1995. I started working as an
industrial engineer. In three months I was promoted to Industrial Manager. The
duties and responsibilities consisted of the following:
Industry Support
I provided support to the plants of Century by the implementation of process improvement techniques. This
was carried on by communicating and working with plant managers to improve quality, productivity and efficiency using industrial engineering tools and techniques. The Industrial Manager
role was as an internal consultant for the mother company to realize improvements in business and industrial processes for the subsidiaries. The main field of work that
were productivity and efficiency improvement for the plants of Century.
Business Development:
I participated in Business Development activities aimed at evaluating new projects. Within this framework,
I was either as a team member or as a team leader. Work designated comprised the technical assessment of the project potentials, assistance in the generation of feasibility studies and business plans and follow up on certain projects with a foreign joint venture partner till the project matures and becomes a viable project for the company.
Computers/MIS:
In addition to the above-mentioned assignments, I supervised Century’s computer operations, including hardware and software purchases.
I gained experience in the implementation and follow-up of Lotus
Notes®- the core of IT at Century- databases design and improvement. The main objective of this duty
was the standardization and automation of workgroup communication tools and techniques, thus facilitating the follow-up of short and long term activities and goals for the company and its subsidiaries.
